Kia Partners with EV Charging Delivery Service, Currently, to Give EV Owners On-Demand Service

Los Angeles, Calif. - March 1, 2022 - Kia America and Currently have announced a partnership that provides Electric Vehicle (EV) owners with on-demand concierge service, allowing them to charge their EVs when and where they want. The partnership officially begins today, March 1, 2022, with access available through the Currently app. While the initial rollout is available in three key EV markets in California - Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Jose - there are plans to expand to other cities in the future.

The partnership provides all Kia EV drivers within Currently's initial service areas two months of service at no cost, and they will have the option to continue after this period. Using the service is simple. Drivers can quickly schedule the time and location for their EV to be charged through the Currently app on their smartphone. A Currently Delivery Technician will then arrive at the site and deliver a charge to the vehicle.

The partnership also signals Kia and Currently's mission to help create a more sustainable world.

"The relationship with our customers does not end after delivery. In fact, that is just the beginning," Greg Silvestri, Kia's Vice President of Service Operations, said. "Partnering with Currently to offer complimentary EV charging connects to our larger 'Plan S' strategy and amplifies our commitment to overall EV adoption. We believe that making charging easy also makes EV ownership easy."

With more drivers considering ways to help reduce exhaust emissions, the on-demand service makes the decision clearer on why customers should choose EVs.

The process is simple. Kia owners simply download the Currently EV app from Apple or Google Play and create an account. Based on the initial success of this program, there are plans to expand to other cities in the near future.
